I didn't like much my rotation in surgery.
Of course I enjoyed every surgery I've been to. I've assisted in fistulectomy, cholycystectomy, modified radical mastectomy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, emergency ventriculo-peritoneal shunt insertion, craniectomy, herniorrhapy... However, I feel tired all the time... The rotation was equally exhausting with that in OB and Gyne rotation but I know in the latter the exhaustion was worth it.
In surgery, partly it is my fault that I haven't managed time to make it productive, but the thing I think they should have given a course outline or made an effort to have daily rounds with us. Haay..
Conferences may have helped the learning process but it seemed to have eaten much time in preparing for the slides, getting the scans and all. Haay.
Anyway, tonight's my last duty in the rotation. Hello Derma.
